Payment Processing and Fee Terms

Version 2026-11-02 · Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]

These Payment Processing and Fee Terms (“Payment Terms”) are part of the Business Terms of Service between [AGILITIES LEGAL NAME] d/b/a HitchPoint (“HitchPoint”, “we”, “us”) and the business using the platform (“you”). They explain how online payments work, the Processing Fee, transfers and payouts, refunds, disputes, and taxes. If these Payment Terms conflict with the Business Terms of Service on a payment topic, these Payment Terms control.

1. HitchPoint is the merchant of record

  1. All online card and bank (ACH) payments made through the platform are processed on HitchPoint’s own Stripe account. HitchPoint is the merchant of record for these payments.
  2. Your customer’s card or bank statement shows “HITCHPOINT” plus a short form of your business name.
  3. You remain responsible for the services you sell, your prices, your quotes, taxes on your services, receipts, and customer service. HitchPoint processes payments on your behalf; it does not provide or guarantee your services.

2. Stripe Express onboarding

  1. During sign-up you must complete Stripe Express onboarding. This includes identity verification and adding a bank account for direct deposit. Stripe collects and holds these details; HitchPoint stores only your Stripe account ID and status.
  2. You must agree to, and comply with, the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. Stripe may require more verification and may restrict, hold, or delay payouts under its own rules.
  3. Online payments are not available until your Stripe Express onboarding is complete and your account is enabled by Stripe.

3. Transfers and payouts

  1. After a customer’s payment succeeds, HitchPoint transfers your share to your Stripe Express connected account. Your share is the payment amount minus the Processing Fee.
  2. Stripe then pays your share out to your bank account by direct deposit on Stripe’s payout schedule, typically about two business days after the transfer. Your first payouts can take longer. Stripe controls payout timing, and HitchPoint is not responsible for Stripe’s payout delays.
  3. Transfer and payout records are available in your dashboard and your Stripe Express dashboard.

4. The Processing Fee

  1. No fee for your customers. Your customer pays only the amount on your invoice, proposal, or deposit request. HitchPoint does not add a surcharge or any other fee to the customer’s total.
  2. What HitchPoint keeps. On every online card or ACH payment, including diagnosis deposits and any other deposit, progress, or final payment, HitchPoint keeps a Processing Fee before transferring your share. The Processing Fee equals:
    • (a) Stripe’s actual processing fee charged to HitchPoint for that payment (for example, Stripe’s card or ACH pricing in effect at the time, including any international card or currency conversion fees); plus
    • (b) 3% of the payment amount.
  3. How it is shown. You see the combined amount labeled “Processing Fee” on each payment in your dashboard.
  4. Example. For illustration only: on a $129.00 card deposit, if Stripe’s fee for that payment were $4.04, the Processing Fee would be $4.04 + $3.87 (3%) = $7.91, and HitchPoint would transfer $121.09 to you. The customer pays $129.00. Actual Stripe fees vary by payment type and Stripe’s pricing at the time.
  5. Rate changes. HitchPoint may change the 3% component with at least 30 days’ notice to you. A different per-business rate may be agreed in writing.
  6. Cash and check. No Processing Fee applies to cash or check payments that you record in the platform yourself.

5. No surcharges without approval

You may not add surcharges, convenience fees, or other fees for card payments to your quotes, proposals, or invoices without HitchPoint’s written approval. If HitchPoint approves, you must comply with all applicable law, and you are responsible for that compliance. HitchPoint does not provide legal advice.

6. Refunds

  1. You decide your refund policy and must honor it and any legal refund requirements.
  2. To refund a customer, contact HitchPoint support at [SUPPORT EMAIL] with the payment details and refund amount. The dashboard does not issue refunds yet.
  3. HitchPoint refunds the customer from its Stripe account and recovers the refunded amount from you by reversing the related transfer or deducting it from future transfers.
  4. The 3% component of the Processing Fee is refunded to you proportionally. For example, a full refund returns the full 3% component; a 50% refund returns half of it.
  5. Stripe’s processing fee is generally not returned by Stripe on refunds and is not refunded to you.

7. Chargebacks and disputes

  1. As merchant of record, HitchPoint receives chargebacks, disputes, and ACH returns on payments made through the platform, and will notify you.
  2. You must provide evidence, such as the signed proposal record (typed name, signature image, time, IP address, and device information), photos, and job notes, within the time HitchPoint requests. HitchPoint decides how to respond to the dispute.
  3. Disputed amounts and Stripe’s dispute fees are recovered from you by reversing the related transfer, deducting them from future transfers, or invoicing you. The Processing Fee is not returned on a disputed payment.
  4. If disputes on your account become excessive, we may disable online payments for your account.

8. Holds, reserves, and negative balances

HitchPoint may hold or delay transfers to you, or set a reserve, for suspected fraud, high dispute rates, negative balances, or legal requirements. If refunds, disputes, or fees create a negative balance that future transfers do not cover, you must pay it when HitchPoint invoices you.

9. Taxes

You are responsible for taxes on your services and for including any sales tax on your quotes. The dashboard supports a tax line; it is a tool, not tax advice. HitchPoint or Stripe may issue tax information forms, such as Form 1099-K, as required by law, and you must provide accurate tax information when asked. HitchPoint is responsible for its own income taxes on the 3% component it retains.

10. Records and statements

Your payment records, including Processing Fee amounts, transfers, and refunds, are available in your dashboard, and payouts are shown in your Stripe Express dashboard. Tell us of any fee or transfer error within 60 days of the payment; after that, amounts are considered accepted except where the law says otherwise.

11. Prohibited payment activity

You will only take payments for your own legitimate services that you have actually provided or will provide. You will not take payments for another business, split a single sale to avoid limits, take payments for illegal goods or services, or use the platform to move money that is not payment for your services.

12. Changes

We may update these Payment Terms. We will give at least 30 days’ notice of a change to the 3% component of the Processing Fee or any other material change, by email or in your dashboard. A per-business rate agreed in writing stays in effect for its agreed term. Changes in Stripe’s own pricing flow through to the Stripe component of the Processing Fee as they take effect.
